I had to combine these two summer months due to my hectic work/travel schedule, so I've created a list that's longer than my usual one-month favorites. In the past months I focused on summer goods (obviously), which is my favorite season to shop for.
TURKISH TOWEL (Similar here, here, and here) I recently got my Turkish towel at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. I'm crazy happy about finding the perfect peach color, and the towel is incredibly soft. I can take it to the beach or it can double as even a throw at home. I'm actually pretty bummed I didn't think to buy a lot more--I'm regretting not getting the light blue and mint color I saw. Oh well, maybe next time!
FOREVER21 RUNNING SHORTS (Coral color sold out online, but other colors here and here) I never thought I would love a pair of running shorts so much, but this affordable pair has made me completely obsessed. It's not only a great fit at the waist and hips, but looser at the thighs to give them enough breathing room when running. The absolute life-changer for me is the zipper-enclosed pocket at the back that is just enough space for your keys (the traditional metal or even hotel key cards). I know it's such a small detail but it just makes me more eager to go running since before I would have to stuff my metal keys creatively, and uncomfortably, into my shoe or sports bra. I have another pair also in the Mint color and debating getting another in the Black.
FACIAL SUNBLOCK PETER THOMAS ROTH (Amazon and Sephora) I asked the Sephora lady which was a lightweight facial sunblock that was separate from my moisturizer. I don't usually like things that are 2-in-1 for beauty, I really need my moisturizer to be separate so keep my face soft. I really liked her recommendation after a couple months of use because it's super lightweight and almost has the milky feeling of the popular Shiseido one. I've used both and I prefer Peter Thomas Roth because it actually fully absorbs into my skin. After about 10 minutes, it fully absorbs and there's no weird white or purple sheen I got with the Shiseido one pretty much all day. An added bonus is the anti-aging magic in the formula.
CC CREAM PETER THOMAS ROTH (Amazon and Sephora) This works as a light BB cream/ tinted moisturizer. This is the same brand as the sunblock above. I've loved how absorptive and natural it looks. It's the barely there but there make-up--enough to smooth out the coloring of my face but not at all cakey or fake or heavy. Again, you have the anti-aging magic in there.
POO-POURRI I saw this in my friend's bathroom and asked about it and then laughed at this great video on their front page. I ordered a small size just to try it out and I'm a total convert because obviously, being a girl I don't go #2, but if I did it would smell of flowers. Or at least Poo-Pourri would convince my boyfriend and roommates it does. No one will know! Anyway, all you have to do is spray your toilet before you use the bathroom and it completes gets rid of any smell and replaces it with a pleasant one. Watch the video! I'm trying out the Lavender Vanilla scent and so far, very good! Definitely will be ordering the 8 or 16 oz soon.
ARTIFACT UPRISING I'm completely head over heels for this company's high quality prints, easy to use platform for designs, and options for printable products. After being a passive fan for a while and seeing it pop up in my instafeed once in a while, I finally tried their soft booklet for to make a photobook as an anniversary gift for my boyfriend. Their quality is insane and I absolutely love anything with matte printing.
LORAC SKINNY PALETTE (Similar option here) I scored this at the Nordstrom anniversary sale for $15 and have loved every bit of it. I've been using random eye shadow palettes from different brands and thought it was time to step up my eye shadow game. It has all the colors I need in one place, making it super easy to take when I travel. It's also got a good hold and color when applied. Obviously I've been loving the three middle shades the most.
CROP TANK TOP SPIRITUAL GANGSTER (Available here and here) I recently received this crop tank top as a gift from Sher of Sher She Goes and been wearing it non-stop (see on Instagram at the airport and hiking in the mountains). It's an incredibly soft knit that I love, and it's also the perfect cropped length that doesn't show too much but is enough to be edgy. It's also so easy to pair with other bottoms and jackets.
MOVIE INSIDE OUT I'm sure most of you have already seen it, or if you've been on the fence, go and watch it! It's not just for children or girls--I went to watch this with my family back in June. My father hadn't watched a cartoon since we were kids and he was forced to take us to the theaters. He came out of the movie very impressed at how much laughter and emotions and mature concepts were presented in the movie.
INSTAGRAM @CULTOFLEE I'm completely obsessed with her gallery full of travel & yoga inspiration, amazing quotes, and all the beaches. She makes everywhere look amazing and brings a unique perspective to the beautiful places she goes. I also follow along on Snapchat (same handle @cultoflee), which is kind of the complete opposite of her IG where it's incredibly funny and goofy, but it's fun to get the more raw side of things as well.
TV SHOW LOVE IT OR LIST IT I've always been a big, huge fan of home improvement/real estate shows (HGTV, anyone?) for some reason--it's probably the combo of the homes being so visually pleasing, the amazing before/after success stories, as well as a small peep into the lives of other people. I've recently discovered Love It or List It (while vacationing in Italy!) and was instantly hooked. I love that you get to see both new homes and makeovers. Two seasons are available on Netflix, which makes it perfect for binge watching. I also love Hilary Farr's relaxed personality and how it clashes with David Vistentin's more aggressive one. I know it's totally cheesy and not the most intelligent show out there, but I just eat it up.
