I started off June strong with a weekend in Las Vegas to celebrate my good friend Joanne's birthday. We had a large group of fun people and it ended up being one of my favorite Las Vegas trips! I finally returned to NYC after a month away and had an amazing time melting into my own bed. I ended the month by going back to LA to see my parents before they left for Asia (they only come to the US once a year during the summer) and ate lots of naeng-myun and galbi. This past month I was pretty busy fitting around from place to place, but still found time to enjoy a few new finds!
JENN NE SAIS QUOI 'UN' EYE SHADOW I was looking for a new glittery base eye shadow and this one blew me away. It's a creamy, beautiful champagne color that glides onto your lids. It's pretty pigmented, but it's not too much glimmer. I usually use my finger to apply it to the inner corners of my eyes for a dewy, brightening effect.
GEOGRAPHY OF GENIUS I had a hard time putting this book down because it goes into detail of different countries, cities, cultures. Eric Weiner travels the world and tries to find why certain places are a hotbed of innovation, genius, and creativity, from places like Athens to Florence to Silicon Valley today. He writes in a relatable way and has funny, spot-on observations of each country he visits.
CUSTOM LEATHER CAMERA STRAP I love how pretty this new leather camera strap is, especially its perfect brown color. I found an awesome seller on Etsy. I was also able to customize a few engravings, like my initials and a heart.
LOUNGE BUDDY I use this app to quickly see where airport lounges are located, and whether or not I have access to them, based on my varying levels of status, credit cards, etc. It also allows me to purchase a day voucher to the lounges. This app is awesome because it helps me save time trying to figure out the complex airport lounge rules. It also has ratings and reviews of each lounge, so you can see if it's worth it to purchase a voucher!
SILICON VALLEY I've been watching this TV show since Season 1. It's been a while since the most recent season started, but I was waiting until enough episodes had come out so I could binge and skip the suspense. I try to keep up with the start up tech news and this show nails it with the satire, absurd humor, and real-life references. This is one of my favorite TV shows of all time and binge-watching Season 3 this month has reminded me how much I had missed it.
