I know this is about a month late, but better late than never right? I just wanted to do a quick post to recap my 2016 travel year. I always like to look back to soak in all the experiences of the past year. It's a reminder to myself to be continually grateful for all the good times. In 2016, I was able to go to 31 cities in 8 different countries!

Most Memorable Travel Moment
I truly fell in love with Iceland--the landscape, the culture, and the people were all equally beautiful. After days of cloudy weather and a low probability of seeing the Northern Lights, we were lucky enough to catch sight of them. It was a truly spectacular experience, completely out of this world.
Favorite Summer Trip
From Seville, Spain, Mattia and I drove to and Lisbon, Portugal. We went beaching hopping in the stunning Algarve waters, surrounded by magnificent cliffs and rock formations I had never seen before. In Lisbon, we spent days spent exploring the gorgeous Lisbon historic center, and nights eating the best seafood and my favorite arroz de marisco.
Most Fun Trip
Drinking the best (and free!) champagne with Mattia's friends and family for his graduation in Lyon, France. His dad started popping bottles when we woke up around 10 AM. This continued until we got to Mattia's graduation reception and were met by free towers of champagne-filled glasses. We didn't stop partying until past midnight.
Best Transportation Moment
Driving right next to the coast from Los Angeles to San Diego in a mustang convertible--the car was insanely powerful with amazingly smooth turns--I can't wait to have a sports car in the future! And it must be a convertible. And I guess I should move back to the west coast so I can use it? Riding the car around next to the therapeutic view of the ocean is something I need to experience more.
Most Heartfelt Moment
Having the rare opportunity to spend time with my parents (they live in Asia and I only see them once a year). Unexpectedly, we spent our weekend in Palm Springs having heart-to-heart conversations.
Snorkeling is one of my favorite things in the world and I was so happy to be able to go again with my friends who had never been before. Snorkeling in pristine waters off the coast of Isla De Culebra, Puerto Rico was truly amazing. It was even better because I got to see my friends experience it for the first time, which reminded me of the excitement and joy from my first time.
Most Relaxing Trip
I was lucky enough to return to Mattia's hometown in the Dolomites, Italy in the summer and winter. I always have such an amazing time there because his family is so welcoming. Mattia and I spend days hiking with my favorite dog in the world, Tyson, and soaking up the delicious mountain air. In the winter, we go snowboarding, sledding, and ice skating on a massive Austrian lake (it takes 30 minutes to do one lap!). We spend nights eating amazing home-cooked lasagna by his grandma and drinking wine and limoncello. We then all fall asleep on the living room sofas watching MasterChef Italia.
