I took a short hiatus from the blog this month to focus on travels and Thanksgiving. Mattia and I traveled to the west coast for a road trip starting from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, hitting San Diego and Grand Canyon in between. We ended the road trip in Las Vegas to celebrate my birthday with a few other friends. Every year I'm grateful that my birthday falls around Thanksgiving so that I am reminded to be extra grateful for all the wonderful stuff in my life. What are you all grateful for this year?
GLAMGLOW GRAVITY MUD Used this firming mask before going out in Vegas. I love the cool tin-man, chrome finish, and I love peeling it off even more. It's the same feeling I had when I used to put a thin layer of Elmer's glue on my hands back in elementary school, and then peeled it off in one piece once it dried. It's oddly satisfying! I like this mask because it tightens your skin and gives a ready-to-go, natural glow. It almost looks like a natural inner glow exuding to the outside.
SEQUINED SKIRT Loved this affordable find for my Vegas trip. The quality is pretty good for the price. I always worry about sequins falling out regardless of brand, but the sequins are on there pretty solid. It's great for the upcoming holidays too! Though it looks like it's now unavailable on the Forever21 website, some similar picks HERE and HERE, and a similar dress HERE.
SWELL WATER BOTTLE I got this water bottle as a swag item from my company. I love how luxurious it feels and how it keeps cold water really cold for 24 hours and hot water hot for 12. It's not the lightest item so I wouldn't use it to travel, but it's great for everyday use at the office and gym. (Mine is size 17 oz.)
OVERDRIVE This is an app I linked to my Los Angeles public library ecard. You can use it to borrow ebooks or audiobooks for free! I'm incredibly happy with this find. I've been debating trying out audiobooks and getting a subscription to audible (which is a bit expensive) for a long time. With Overdrive, I was able to test out whether or not I liked audiobooks risk-free. The first book I read was Yes, Please! by Amy Poehler (which she read herself and had pretty cool guest stars read with her) and I moved onto The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. I love listening while traveling on planes, trains, driving, etc. Check with your local public library system to see if they offer something like this.
