I was excited to return to SF earlier this year. I hadn't visited in 2 years, the days before Uber, which made my overall impression confused. How could a city that had mediocre public transit also be so difficult for car owners? There is no parking and traffic is terrible. The city was beautiful and mysterious, but I didn't understand how anyone could live there.
I was blown away by how much SF had changed in 2 years. Even with just Uber and Lyft, the city became a lot more functional and fun. Jetting around from hood to hood and late nights weren't difficult to manage. It was fun to have spontaneous conversations with fellow Uber Pool/Lyft Line riders and learn more about the city from natives.
All that aside, I was more than thrilled to be greeted by sunshine, bright-colored homes, and happy people. I kept dreaming of buying a pastel-colored home surrounded by flower trees.
