Spring has been amazing. I spent less time on the road and spent a lot of time in New York, getting to know the city better and getting to spend more time with friends. I admit I spent too much time in Soho and Brooklyn, shopping for my favorite season, summer. At the end of May, I went to Los Angeles to see my parents, who I hadn't seen in about a year since they live in Asia. We had a lot of catching up to do and celebrated the birthdays and father's/mother's days that we missed. For the memorial day weekend, I took them on a trip to San Diego and spent a lot of quality time together. I had forgotten how beautiful the ocean was!
I ended the season by going to Cancun and Tulum for my friend Joanne's birthday. It was amazing and gorgeous and one of the best ways to kick off the summer.
Parabo Press I'm always on the hunt for places that deliver high quality printing since I love decorating my home with memories from my travels. I had been looking to spruce up my living room and was excited to have Parabo Press reach out to me. I focused on one of my favorite trips of last year: Algarve, Portugal. I got several fine art prints with wooden rails and skeleton clips as hangers. They also have awesome products like photobooks and calendars, and I definitely have my eye on the beautifully oversized engineer prints. Use their mobile app for easy checkout from your phone!
Leather backpack (similar here and here) This cute backpack is a smooth leather that I love and functionally it's amazing since it fits a lot more than it looks. It fits my DSLR with room for an extra lens, my wallet, iPhone, mobile charger, and more. It's the perfect size and definitely beats having one sore shoulder from lugging around a heavy tote.
Tobi One Piece I totally in love with one pieces. They're a lot more forgiving than bikinis yet still look so chic. I love the low back cut on this one, and of course the tie detail on the side, which is not only a pretty look, but also functional since it adjusts to your size. I also love one pieces since I don't have to worry about any unintended peep shows (especially when I jump into the water or come across a strong wave!) like I do with bikinis.
Nipple Cover Pasties No exaggeration, this one little item has really been a total game changer. I no longer avoid outfits with low v-cut tops or backless items. I don't feel embarrassed that my bra straps are peeping out when I do wear outfits with a low-cut, pretty back detail. They're really good about sticking onto your skin and are reusable. All you have to do is wash them with warm water after each wear. Trust me, you won't regret this purchase and will be wearing lots of fly backless outfits this summer.
Ardell Demi Wispies I always get the multi-pack and they last me a long time. I generally reuse them at least 3 times! I love the natural look of the thin, wispy lashes that get longer on the ends. It actually looks like my real lashes and it always gives my looks an extra pop. I don't ever go on nights out or date nights without falsies!
Clio Kill Black Liquid Liner I've used the popular Stila liquid liner for about a year before switching to the Kat Von D. Then I found the Clio liquid liner. I'm really particular about my liners since I never leave the house without eyeliner and I have oily monolids that require extremely waterproof formulas. The Clio is a great combination of the following: a flexible yet sturdy applicator brush and a strong waterproof formula that glides on super easy. Some complain that it is a bit too watery when they apply it, but that's another reason why I love it--since I have monolids I need to apply a ton of liner for it to be noticeable. An extra plus is that it's more affordable than the Stila or the Kat Von D.
Olloclip I've had this olloclip for several months now and I love both the wide angle lens and the fish eye lens. It's not the cheapest for a lens attachment, but the quality of the lens is definitely worth it. It's also the best for selfies since the wide angle allows you to get a lot more than just your face. I also use it for pictures of landmarks, buildings, and scenery when I travel since it captures a lot more in the frame than the regular iPhone lens. It also has two different macro lens but I generally use it for the wide angle and fish eye.
Rose Gold 6 ft iPhone Cable I've used the normal Amazon basic 6ft cable for the longest time and have been in love with the length of the cord. Ever since I lost it in a hotel room (again), I've upgraded to the nylon braided version since it's much sturdier. I hate when charge cords break and start exposing the electric cords on the inside, and the braided cord guarantees none of that will happen and it will last a very long time. Plus the pretty color makes it all the more easier to spot when I check out of hotel rooms, so hopefully I won't forget to pack this one anytime soon!
Yogaworks Soho I admit I had the hardest time starting off a workout regime this year (working on that summer bod!) After a few weeks of failed attempts at a routine, I finally signed up for classes at Yogaworks Soho. It's hard not to be inspired in such a gorgeous studio, with high ceilings and the prettiest light flooding in from their many windows! I loved their range of classes--I took my first Pilates and Barre class and loved both, but my favorite was their Sculptworks class with Jason Bayus. Sculptworks uses your bodyweight, sliding discs, and stretch bands with a little bit of yoga and cardio mixed in. It definitely kicked my butt! My thighs, back, and butt were sore all week after my first class! I loved Jason's music picks and upbeat attitude, his classes are difficult but also so much fun. (Also pictured above: Boohoo workout gear, they have the cutest stuff!)
