It's been a whirlwind winter full of work and travel. I traveled to Iceland & Germany in December with my sister, visited Mattia in Italy in both January & February, and went on a girls trip to Las Vegas in February. My day job has gotten pretty busy as well, so I've recently been learning the art of balance more than ever. I wanted to share with you all some of the things that have been making me happy this winter.
VELVET DRESS This simple and chic velvet dress from Brandy Meville is my current favorite LBD. I love the neckline that's dipped but not too lowcut. It has a comfortably loose fit, but still shows some shape since the waist is subtly cinched. And like most LBDs, it can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
VELVET HEELS I'm kind of on a velvet high at the moment so I was ecstatic when I saw these gorgeous navy heels at Zara. It was the perfect height for comfort and making it work-appropriate. The heels are versatile enough for nights out or work. (You can tell I'm a fan of dual purpose, haha) I've already gotten a few compliments from strangers, which is always a big plus.
POM BEANIE I wore this all through my winter travels in Iceland, Germany, and Italy. I absolutely love it! It matches pretty much every outfit, but still stands out because of the cute pom at the end. It looks a lot more luxe than the price might suggest. It has more of a normal wool feel than cashmere, but it's still high value for price.
HARRY'S SHAVER I've been using my old traditional Venus shaver for the longest time until I found out about Harry's shavers. I was most excited about the price. I've had a terrible habit of never changing my Venus razor since it's pretty expensive. Harry's razors are only $2 each and after several weeks of use, I can say they're pretty high quality. My legs feel luxuriously smooth. I actually get to use fresh blades now! An extra plus was the travel blade cover that came in the package, which is great for when I toss it into my toiletries bag.
JACK BLACK LIP BALM This Jack Black intense therapy lip balm has been a total life changer. I've always had really dry lips and no brand of chapstick or lip balm was ever enough, especially in the winter. My friend Sera (who has amazing, luscious lips and gives me all the deets on how to care for them) recommended this lip balm and now I swear by this blue tube. I use it throughout the day and also every night right before I go to sleep. I wake up with plump, soft lips. It also has 25 SPF, which will be clutch in the sunnier seasons.
VAPUR WATER BOTTLE I love this unique "anti-bottle" because it is perfect for travel. It becomes completely flat when it's empty, so it takes up almost no space in my bag. Since I tend to travel with what feels like an anvil in my tote, I really appreciate anything that saves even the smallest bit of space and weight. I used it all throughout my winter trips to Iceland, Germany, and Italy!
TRAVEL SIZE HUMIDIFIER My friend Sera has been extra amazing, she also gifted me this Crane travel humidifier. Winter is super drying, especially in hotel rooms that use central AC. This small thing packs a lot of power and has been great for keeping my face and nose from drying out when I sleep. It's super light, takes up barely any space in my luggage, and is really easy to clean.
EAST OF EDEN I read (or rather, listened through audiobook) this book over the Christmas holidays and not a week has gone by where I don't reflect on it. It can be a bit dry and John Steinbeck can ramble on in his descriptions, but I found myself totally entranced by the story. He does really well with characterizations and descriptions of human nature. He ends on a very empowering note so I hope you all stick through to the end!
